Health assessment for people aged 45-49 years

Prevention is better than cure. Approximately, 80% of premature heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and 40% of cancers could be prevented through various lifestyle changes such as a healthy diet, regular physical activity and avoiding tobacco products.

The Australian Government offers a free health assessment for people aged 45-49 years. The health assessment is conducted by the practice nurse and your GP to detect early chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes and review your risk. The nurse and GP will then discuss interventions to help decrease your risk and prevent chronic diseases.
